Cape Harbour sits in SW Cape Coral at the intersection of Cape Coral Parkway and Chiquita Boulevard. The community is built around the Cape Harbour Marina, which has direct sailboat access to the Gulf of Mexico through the Caloosahatchee River. The waterfront includes a mix of single-family homes, townhomes, and high-rise condominiums, all with private or HOA-managed seawalls.
Most Cape Harbour seawalls were built in the late 1990s and 2000s, which puts them at 20 to 25 years of service life. Construction standards were higher than the original Cape Coral developments: typically vinyl or composite panels, engineered tieback designs, and corrosion-inhibited concrete caps with proper clear cover over rebar. Hurricane Ian did damage some walls in Cape Harbour, but the newer construction generally absorbed the surge better than the older stock further south and east in Cape Coral.
Cape Harbour seawall permits go through the City of Cape Coral. HOA and condominium boards generally have additional approval requirements beyond the City. We work with HOA boards regularly, including phased work plans to keep slips occupied during repairs, board-ready written proposals with scope, cost, schedule, and references, and clean project closeout documentation. We also coordinate with the marina operator on barge access and crane staging.
Every one of these is repairable in most cases. Replacement is the right call only when the structure has lost its underlying integrity. Our standard practice is to quote repair first when the wall supports it.
